Overview

The Get Hotel Content API allows you to retrieve the most up-to-date static descriptive and media content for hotels. Our API automatically aggregates all hotel content from various suppliers and de-duplicates all aggregated hotel content, allowing you faster access to a rich source of extensive hotel content.

To make it even easier to retrieve specific types of hotel content, we have categorized hotel content into predefined groups of information, such as basic, amenities, activities, policies, area attractions, descriptions, and images. All you need to do is to specify the hotel content preference (contentPrefs) in the request so that you can retrieve hotel content based on your requirement.

You can retrieve hotel content based on specific hotel IDs or a geolocation, which includes either a radial search, a rectangular search, or a polygonal search. If you know the hotel IDs for which you want to retrieve hotel content, we recommend that you use the search by hotel ID use case as this narrows down the search criteria and enables you to get results faster. The search by geolocation use case is recommended only when you want to retrieve hotel content for various hotels in a particular area.

The Get Hotel Content API allows you to retrieve hotel content from supplier families of your choice. Additionally, you can also filter out hotel content based on the minimum hotel rating (minRating) that you specify in the request.

The endpoint for the Get Hotel Content API is https://public-contentservice.oski.io/api/hotel/v1.0/content.

Get Hotel Content for Specific Hotels

We recommend that you use this use case when you know the hotel IDs for which you want to retrieve hotel content as this narrows down the search criteria and enables you to get results faster. This API allows you to retrieve the hotel content for multiple hotels across multiple suppliers.

Get Hotel Content for Hotels within a Geolocation

We recommend that you use this use case when you want to retrieve hotel content for all hotels that are located within a specific geographical region. The Hotel Content API supports a radial, a rectangular, and a polygonal geolocation search.

A radial search allows you to easily retrieve hotel content for hotels that are located within a specified distance (radius) from a given point of interest location. This location is also called as the reference point or the center.

For example, with our Hotel Content API, you can easily retrieve content for all hotels that are located within a 5-kilometer radius from the CDG (Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport) airport.

A rectangular search allows you to define a geographic area when retrieving hotel content, rather than searching within a given radius based on a defined point, as in the radial search. You can easily retrieve hotel content for hotels that are located within a particular area or a given bounding box by using geocodes. This API allows you to support a map-based search experience based on the view port. When you retrieve content for hotels within a rectangular region, you must ensure that the distance is within 250 kilometers and the area is within a rectangle.

A polygonal search allows you to define a geographic area when searching for hotels, rather than searching within a given radius based on a defined point, as in the radial search. You can easily retrieve hotel content for hotels that are located within a particular area or a bounding polygonal region by using geocodes. This API allows you to support a map-based search experience based on the view port.

When you retrieve hotel content for hotels within a polygonal region, you must provide geocodes for all the points that form the polygon, keeping in mind that the coordinates for the starting point and the end point of the polygon must be the same.
