Overview

Every OTA wants to be on top of the competitive travel industry by ensuring that they provide the best possible room rates. There might be scenarios where the rate of a hotel room provided by a supplier has changed since the last time you performed a search, even if it was just a few minutes ago. The Get Rate Rules API allows you to have easy and quick access to the most recent rates from the supplier, ensuring that you have the the latest updated rate from the supplier before proceeding with a booking.

The Get Rate Rules API allows you to retrieve the latest room rates along with the rules, policies, and restrictions around the usage of that specific room rate. The API response also includes a breakdown of all charges, including the base rate, taxes, discounts, fees, and the estimated total cost.

For a seamless experience, we have provided two use cases for you to try out, namely a per-booking pricing model use case and a per-room pricing model use case. You must verify the pricing model that is returned in the response of the Get Room Rates Results API, and then use the appropriate pricing model use case in the Get Rate Rules API. For example, if the response from the Get Room Rates Results API call returns a per booking pricing model from the supplier, you must use the Rate Rules- Per Booking use case.

The Get Rate Rules API endpoint is https://usg.cnxloyalty.com/api/hotels/getraterules/{sessionId}.

Get Rate Rules - Per Booking

This is a sample scenario where the supplier provides the rate rules based on a per-booking pricing model, comprising of different rooms in a single booking, instead of a per room rate basis.

For example, a hotel search request for 6 rooms was made with 2 guest occupants per room. A supplier can provide the per booking rate option 1 as $2000, which includes 2 deluxe rooms with 2 occupants per room, 1 presidential suite room with 2 occupants, and 3 standard rooms with 2 occupants per room. The supplier can also provide the per booking rate option 2 as $1500, which includes 3 standard rooms with 2 occupants per room and 3 deluxe rooms with 2 occupants per room.

Get Rate Rules - Per Room

This is a sample scenario where the supplier provides the rate rules based on a per-room pricing model.

For example, a hotel search request for 2 rooms was made with each room having 2 occupants. The supplier can provide the per-room rate as $300 for 1 Deluxe room having 2 occupants and $200 for 1 Standard room having 2 occupants.
